As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu.
My sisters in Islam, as you all know, being Hijabi is not just a fashion statement, it is a lifestyle, a mindset, a commitment to Allah the Almighty, the Merciful, The creator, (all praise be unto him). However being modest doesn't mean we have to be out of the mode, especially for us Sisters in the West... The Muslim woman has long been excluded in fashion industry marketing, strategy, and design. This however, is changing as Islam is becoming one of the religions with the highest reversion (conversion) rate, and fashion designers all over the world are starting to recognize the need for beautiful, high class, high quality, modest fashions..... for the modern Muslimah... the styles are now as varied as we are... the Muslim woman has always been creative, smart, modest and beautiful... and the modern Muslimah is now beginning to set a fashion concious foot forward in the world....
For me fashion has always been a passion and a hobby. I enjoy putting together differnt, colors, ideas, themes, patterns, fabrics, textures, and designs to create a certain attitude, and style. I like to do the unexpected and take practical ideas and reinvent them in different ways. I take inspiration from all cultures, time periods and trends to create different styles, looks and outfits. I especially love creative and unique hijab patterns, colors, textures, drapes and styles.... since the hijab is usually the most distinguishable feature of many Muslim women, why not play around with many different ideas to make it really "pop"?...
